I can’t believe January is quickly coming to a close and February is rolling in!! Speaking of February, many of you lovebirds out there must be busy thinking of what to do when that special day in February comes. Chocolates, a fancy dinner, and a bouquet of flowers are probably what pops up first in your mind, right?
1000couples is looking to mix things up by offering a digital platform where you can claim a spot on their website and profess your love and devotion to your significant other, and it will remain there forever! How lovely would it be to look back on that specific day and be able to read exactly what your love said to/about you? Yeah, social media is there and you can do the same thing but reserving a spot on a site exclusively for the purpose of sending a sweet note on Valentine’s Day is even more special, don’t you think?!
How It Works
Basically, it’s a first come, first serve basis, open to the first 1000 couples … hence the name 1000couples. You can sign up on the site for a fee which will increase by $1 (0.78p) every time someone signs up. What’s pretty nice is that half of the profits will be given to charity!
Harry, one of the early buyers, said,
I met my wife 8 years ago online so the internet has always been a part of our love story. I tried 1000Couples because I was impressed at the level of ingenuity & the flavor of romance in it. My wife loves Valentine’s Day & I wanted to gift her something unique. The price was a little steep but since the business donates 50% of all its profits to charity, it was fine for me & so I went ahead with it.”
My Feelings About It
I personally think this is a cool idea because my boyfriend and I are in a long distance relationship. We also met online. Buying and sending each other physical goods can get pretty pricey by itself, so I think the fact that he or I could go back to our roots of how we met and do this is something special (hi boyfriend, yes you, pay attention)! I definitely want to look back and, depending on what I write, giggle with delight or cringe with how sappy and lovey dovey the note was. In return for this post, I was gifted a spot on the site, which I am grateful and excited to use!
Anyway, definitely check it out 1000couples if you’re interested in giving a spin to your Valentine’s Day this year. They’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Aw that’s sweet
Thanks for stopping by Marie!
This is such a sweet idea for couples & it’s so unique! I haven’t seen anything like it before!
Yes totally agree! I think it’s an interesting concept!
This is a very cute idea, and sounds super special, especially like you said, for those that met via the Internet as well <3 And as there's only 1000 that can do it, it would be pretty special to get on there. I'll have to show my boyfriend this lolll. Fab post!

Hahaha yes I think that is one reason that might make couples want to get on there, partly for its exclusivity! 😅 Thank you so much Chloe!
I think it’s a super great idea! But wow, $200? (current price for a spot) This is definitely a site for older couples and so the owner can make some bank lol!
I do love the idea though since me and my husband met on the internet too, we have notes all over the net, like on the site we met on, facebook, tumblr and so many other places. This site would be good just to have a lil message to go back to too, but worth a price. Thanks for sharing this!! Very cute, and new as I’ve never seen a site like that!
Yes you’re totally right Kikita! Those who are always in social media would most likely not find this useful at all because social media is free 😂 but it definitely helps that half goes to charity! It is a unique idea for sure!
What a lovely idea! Could get a bit pricey but good that 50% goes to charity 🙂
Yes haha it’s a little steep now and it just got a little over$200!
This is such a sweet idea. Neal and I met online, so it would have been a cute thing to do – if only I’d known about it sooner. The price is way too high now! At least half of it goes to charity, though, on the bright side! As much as I adore Neal, I could never justify paying $200 when I could tell him face to face, or make him something to keep forever.
Haha yes I definitely get what you mean there Ruth! I didn’t realize you guys also met online, it makes me feel better to know that there’s actually more people that met online than what I initially thought!
This is such a cute idea!! Shame I don’t have a boyfriend haha but I will mention to friends that do!

Thank you Jenny! Aw well all the single ladies can have their own kind of fun too!! 😉
This is so cute and brilliant!! Especially for a relationship like yours that has grown and flourished online. I also love the idea of being able to look back on it. This is definitely a changeup and I think it fits perfectly with this digital age! <3
Yes I agree, although it’s not for everyone, it would mean a lot to people that met online!! 😄✨
This is such a sweet idea, I think it’s great for couples like yourselves who are long distance. It’s lovely that some of the money is going to charity too x

Thank you Sophie! I do like that part of it goes to a good cause!
This is a really sweet idea! I love that it’s limited to 1,000 couples as that really makes it unique and special. Looking back at the site in years to come would be such a nice thing for the couples involved. That’s lovely you and your boyfriend have a space on there too, that’s so cute! Thanks for sharing Geraldine, fab post! <3 xx

1000couples looks like a pretty cool idea. I like that you can put some cute notes and read each other some notes. Their marketing plan looks interesting and I like that they’re giving back to charity. Thanks for sharing this! Hope you’ll continue to enjoy using it :).

Hey Nancy! It’s definitely an interesting marketing technique and a present for someone on Valentine’s day! Giving to charity half the funds is also really commendable. Thanks for reading! 😄
I remember someone was actually saying something about this on Twitter and now I’m so so so so intrigued omg!!! I may just need to fully check it out!
I only saw it for a bit on Twitter as well! It’s an interesting concept indeed 🙂
