Disclaimer: I received this shirt for a discount in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
I’m excited to share with you my first ever “collaboration” (This counts, right?) with a company since my blogging journey! I was contacted by two representatives from Blooming Jelly via Instagram to see if I’d be interested in receiving a free item in exchange for a review. Of course, I took it! I like free things … as well as any opportunity to put myself out there as a blogger who is capable of reviewing products. So without further ado, here’s my review for Blooming Jelly!
I was presented about six different options and I chose this long-sleeve shirt (It’s up on Amazon for $18.99 US). It only comes in one style and one color – the only option you can change is your size! They include the size guide in their description – I got mine in size Small. The Amazon UK site offers this shirt in this color as well as a dark grey one!
The arrival was fairly quick and only took a few days. Unfortunately I don’t have Amazon Prime so I had to wait a little longer, but not by much!
Past the white packaging, the shirt arrived in a neat transparent plastic bag with a zip-lock enclosure. I’m the kind of person who hates throwing packaging out; if I receive a gift bag, I save everything including the gift bag, as well as the tissue paper! I’m glad I didn’t have to destroy the bag that held the shirt because it’s reusable! It’s a really neat addition and is something I don’t see often.
One part on their Amazon page said Cotton AND Polyester, while scrolling down you’ll see a different statement of “100% Polyester”. The tag on the actual shirt says 35% Cotton and 65% Polyester, in case you were wondering what the truth was! The material can stretch and is quite soft and comfortable to wear. It’s not thick, but it isn’t too thin that it’s transparent, so no worries there!
The colors look accurate and is true to what you see online (sorry, my image editing made it look a different shade) which is excellent! Even though I ordered a Small, it’s not tight-fitted and there’s some extra fabric along the bottom as well, which makes you look nice and curvy. The back of the shirt is longer than the front and covers the bum like it’s shown online.
My boyfriend didn’t like the stripes on the arms because he thought it was random next to the block colors but I personally liked that addition. One thing I did notice was that the striped portion of the sleeve wasn’t sewn to match or align perfectly all the way around. However, that seam portion is on the inside where it’s closer to my body and is very small so it’s not noticeable.
I think it’s a pretty shirt and fits me perfectly. It’s soft and pleasant to the skin, and I absolutely love the color. It’s perfect for the upcoming Fall weather and I can’t wait to match it with my scarf, leggings, and knee-high boots!
