SEV Laser – 6 Sessions Later

March 14, 2020

So, was LHR effective in removing all or most hair in the targeted area(s)? Here’s my follow-up blog post about SEV Laser – 6 sessions later! If you’re interested in learning about what LHR is and what my experience was during my first time, read this blog post.

Recap

I got my LHR sessions from Groupon, which offered a bundle on Brazilian and underarms for 6 sessions at SEV. I started my sessions in August and was consistent in returning every four weeks for my next session, until January.

How Does It Feel?

LHR hands down is so much better than waxing. Pain-wise, it is so much more tolerable!

Granted, they do increase the power in the laser machine after every session. I will admit there were some times where I twitched a bit from how powerful the laser was, but it’s still much better than waxing. If you get your Brazilian done, you’ll really feel it there. I didn’t feel it as much for the underarms!

Shaving?

After the second or third appointment, my hair grew back at a much slower rate that I didn’t have to shave in between sessions (until the day before my following appointment). It was such an amazing feeling and I’m glad I didn’t have to waste as much time in the shower as I did before.

The Present – What’s the Reality?

It’s now been like a month and a half if not two months since my last session.

The hairs have begun to grow back both in the underarm and Brazilian region, although more is present down there. However, the hairs are very fine. Due to the fact that there’s a lot growing back down there, it’s visible and easy to see.

The Truth About LHR

During my last two sessions, I asked both of the laser technicians about the truth about laser hair removal.

How many sessions does it really take to be hair free?

They both said the same thing – it varies from person to person. Unfortunately, a lot of articles out there will tell you that six sessions are all you really need. They both actually told me that’s about the minimum amount.

For some people, it may only take six, while others may need ten! They also said it depends on the area you’re getting lasered. Some hairs in certain regions are tougher and more stubborn so they may not adhere to the laser as well as other places, therefore requiring more sessions. One girl told me she needed ten sessions for her legs, especially around the knee cap area.

All in all, I’m fairly satisfied with the results, however disappointed in the misinformation I’ve been reading out there. I will be returning to SEV Laser to get more sessions in for both areas until I notice there’s a significantly less amount of hair growing back. Unfortunately, I’m no longer in that four-week cycle, so hopefully going back to lasering several months later won’t throw everything off.

At the end of the day, I don’t regret my Groupon purchase for 6 sessions at SEV Laser at all. Despite seeing the hair grow back, I haven’t been shaving it off, as I feel there’s still no need to do so.

What are your thoughts? After reading this information, would you be interested in LHR or stick to waxing / shaving?

Until next time!

I’m on a laser treatment too, but I did just 1 session now and it was painful. I can’t wait to see all the results for this summer, it will be a life change!

Aw sorry to hear it was! Have you ever had waxing before? Pain tolerance is definitely one of the things that can vary among people too! I hope the rest of your treatments go well for you. xx

it is def a bummer that people spread misinformation regarding the number of sessions it takes to remove hair completely. I just know that as someone with an italian background and dark hair, i’d prob need 10 sessions lmao!

but it seems like you still got some pretty amazing results from your 6 sessions! I’m so intrigued by this and i’m going to have to look on groupon to see if there are deals available in the new england area!!

    Thanks for your honesty, girl!!!

Haha right? We all get excited but find out it’s not exactly true which is disappointing. It’s definitely still worth a try and Groupon is so amazing and you save so much with it!! I hope they do have good deals around your area!

Oooh! It is great that laser has been super worthwhile! I should look into it because even though hair is not completely eliminated, it makes it easier to maintain with the thinning. It is a bummer that the information wasn’t all that accurate. I mean, that is how they get the market in. I’m not a fan of waxing. I’ll look into laser eventually! Thanks for sharing your experience!

Sounds like you got some good results after those 6 sessions, That sucks about the misinformation though. It’s certainly something I’m interested in trying myself. I’ll have to see if I can find a deal online. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I haven’t thought of getting any hair removal laser but my cousins convinced me to because they’re also doing it. Maybe this is a sign to give it a try!

    Thanks for the great post!

    Take care! 🙂

It’s unfortunately not very cheap esp if you have to keep at it at LEAST 6 times every 4-6 weeks. Hopefully you get good results when you go! Thanks for reading xx

I’ve always wondered about these laser treatments. I’m scared to try them myself, but seeing that they provide results (and aren’t too bad, like you said) might make me try them.

Hahaha they’re much less painful compared to waxing, trust me!! If you’ve ever had waxing especially in the bikini area, you’ll know what I mean. It’s definitely worth a shot! I highly recommend looking through Groupon cause it can save you lots of money!!

So maybe this is Influenster's early Christmas gif So maybe this is Influenster's early Christmas gift to me ?🤣 I got to try this sakura pink metallic color on my hair and as I expected, the color didn't show up as it showed on the box. I said in the survey I have black hair and still some remnants of blonde in my hair, but not much? Still, somehow I got chosen for this campaign 🤣 it DID however turn my roots a nice reddish brown color? The ends where my hair was blonde are purplish pink. I really wish I was back to full blonde so I could try this out! It would look soo pretty. Regardless, even though it didn't work as I suspected, I still appreciate the color tinting 🤭💖 TLDR: it works! But you need fairly light hair for it to work. Even the box says so. 🤣🙈

Hello! 🥰 Long time no see eh? I'm back in schoo Hello! 🥰 Long time no see eh? I'm back in school after a week break for Thanksgiving. I actually got a decent picture of myself during Thanksgiving but forgot to post it hehe 😆 we spent Wednesday night at my cousin's new house for Thanksgiving and then had more Thanksgiving food during Thanksgiving. 🤣 I'm so stuffed but I miss the blueberry pies and pecan pies! They went too fast 😭😭 Also, meet Chewy, my cousin's toy poodle 🥺 isn't he cute? He doesn't wriggle around when you hold him which is the sweetest thing 😍😆

I was kindly given a Care Package Voxbox from @inf I was kindly given a Care Package Voxbox from @influenster because they know I'm gonna be dying now that school has started back up again. 🤪🤪🤣 I am actually running out of toner so I am so freaking glad part of this care package involved the @humphreyswitchhazel toner! I've never tried anything with witch hazel but it's something I'm eager to try.

I don't do much for my hair either so I think Influenster knew I needed to treat my hair with more love. When I have free time this weekend I'll be trying the @garnierusa hair mask and let y'all know what I think! It kinda makes me nervous because my hair gets so greasy but idk maybe that doesn't affect that?? 😆 And of course, super grateful for the @advilrelief because I can never get enough pills in me to treat my headaches cause it's the time for me to apply to universities...🙃 Can you believe it?! I'm graduating community college (again) in may 2021 and will be transferring soon for my bachelor's!! So crazy!🙈
