Hello friends! I bought new tea two months ago and totally forgot to post it, so it’s time I released it.
I love tea; It’s one of things I can safely say I’m obsessed about. Surprisingly, I don’t actually have that much tea on hand or hordes several kinds at one time – I just buy a large box of tea bags and get more when it’s done! I found out about Story of My Tea through Instagram not too long ago and I was informed about their huge tea giveaway as well as their Kickstarter event, which I was eager to support as a fellow tea lover! I got a coupon for a free cold brew 4 pack, a coupon $5 off any purchase, and more. This is my first time getting tea from anywhere else other than the typical Asian supermarket that I visit regularly, so I was pretty excited to get into it and try it!
For the $5 off coupon, I chose Citrus Jasmine cold brew tea and this is what I’ll be reviewing today! No affiliate links here.
Citrus Jasmine Cold Brew Tea
This tea contains black tea, jasmine green tea, lemongrass, rose petals, and cornflower. It also contains caffeine. The package gives you 2 ways of preparing the tea:
- Cold steep, in which you place a tea bag in water and refrigerate for a couple of hours
- Hot steep, in which you steep the tea bag in hot water and add ice
Upon ripping the package and opening the seal, I was greeted by a strong citrus smell as well as 4 medium tea bags. To test these out, I steeped the tea bag in hot water and then later added ice. I have no patience in putting it in the fridge and waiting for it to cool. I usually leave my tea bags in my cup the entire time – I like my teas strong. For the sake of testing out this tea, I’m removing the bags to see if there are any changes in flavor. Also keep in mind, I drink my tea without milk or sugar in it, so I’m describing the flavor purely as it is!
Take #1:
I waited for about 2 minutes before removing the tea bag from my cup and I honestly don’t think I waited long enough as it had a light flavor. Another reason why it could’ve been light in flavor is because I steeped my tea in a big volume of water and THEN adding more water with the ice!
The tea has a wonderful floral taste of Jasmine with light citrus undertones. Another thing I noticed is that it isn’t dehydrating! I’m not sure about anyone else but the Jasmine teas I usually drink make my mouth VERY DRY. Maybe it’s just me, but I find that the tea almost has a really subtle hint of sweetness to it, which is awesome.
Tip: Make sure you steep it with less water because you’ll add more to it later with ice!
Take #2:
I steeped it for 5-6 minutes in boiling water before adding ice. I didn’t taste that subtle sweetness when I drank it hot (I decided to let the tea bag stay there). The flavor was strong but it didn’t get too bitter!
Overall
I believe it’s worth the price and I’m quite pleased with this flavor. This was actually the first time getting cold brew tea and I wasn’t disappointed! The Jasmine and the citrus blended with each other harmoniously, making it a truly refreshing cup of tea. I look forward to trying more cold brew tea flavors from Story of My Tea!
What are your favorite tea flavors? Do you have a favorite tea brand?
I’m so boring when it comes to tea, but I’ve tried a few different flavoured ones before though, I had a mango and passion-fruit tea before though and that was pretty nice – sweet, but good! My favourite place to go in the uk for tea or hot chocolates is Whittard of Chelsea, I think they may be about in other countries too though, but they’re amazing! Lovely post as always <3

Mango and passion fruit tea sounds delish!!! I don’t think we have Whittard of Chelsea 😞 either that or it’s not by me!! I have to double check hehe. Thank you so much Chloe! xx
Ooh I love that you don’t get that dehydrated feeling with this tea because I totally get what you mean when you say that you get it with others! This sounds like such a nice one!

I’m glad you understood what I meant Soph, it was delicious and I definitely recommend it 😊
I’ve never heard of this brand! I generally drink tea from T2 and I really like it 😀
I also drink a lot of infusions to relax. My favorite tea flavors are: Jasmine tea, lemon tea, peach tea, mint tea and green tea 🙂
Team tea lovers, yeahhhh!!!
Me neither!! I only came across them from Instagram when I started my blog! I’ve never heard of T2 😅 I wonder if we have it in the US? And peach tea is also amazinggg!! 💕💗
Pretty cool that you got to try out some tea from Story of My Tea through the Kickstarter event. I know I’d love the cold steep option, hehe. Glad you enjoyed the tea overall. I hate it when you want iced tea but the flavor becomes weak because it gets too watered down. Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I don’t have a favorite tea brand. Does drinking milk tea count? XD.

I think milk tea totally counts Nancy!! I like milk tea too, I just don’t drink that as often unfortunately. I never really iced my teas like this so I learned the first time!! 😂
I think I’d love this. I love Jasmine and citris.
You should definitely try it! I think the price is reasonable 😊
I’m not usually a massive fan of tea at all, but this one kinda intrigues me it sounds really really nice! I think I would really enjoy this as Ice tea, it sounds like it would be really refreshing! lovely post xx
Hahaha you’re the first person I’ve come across that didn’t! Some teas definitely taste better than others and this is probably one of them 😄 thank you so much! 💖
Hi Geraldine!
Cold brew tea really sounds like something quite special – I’ve only ever bought ready-made iced tea before.
The dry mouth thing is interesting and I’m glad that this tea didn’t cause anything like that to happen. I definitely feel like some beverages can leave you feeling more thirsty afterwards, which is so odd and probably because of a dry mouth, so I think I understand that now! It’s something I’ve always wondered about! 😂
I like good old black tea with milk and sugar. I also particularly enjoy liquorice tea, rhubarb tea and peppermint tea. But really, I’m way more of a coffee girl at heart! 💜

Hi Hanna! I’ve never had it either so it was definitely a change! I often get that thirsty feeling with Jasmine tea. It’s weird and I don’t know what causes it 🤔 black tea is something I am currently drinking right now! I have never tried liquorice or rhubarb, those sound very interesting 🤗 I definitely drink coffee still! That will never stop haha
That tea sounds delicious! I’ve never had cold brew before, I love iced tea but I just buy it pre-made. Although I’m really good at forgetting I made myself tea and then let it go cold, which I guess counts as cold brew 😂
I do that ALL the time!! Then it becomes lukewarm tea 😉😆
