If you haven’t heard of Wish already, Wish is a website and app that sells a plethora of items such as clothing, makeup, electronics, and home products, to name a few. It functions like Amazon and eBay, where you can choose from various merchants to purchase an item. Some items are sold and shipped from the US, but most products are sold and shipped from China.
What’s pretty cool about Wish is that most, if not all items are sold at ridiculously low prices! Sometimes, they’re even free. That’s what makes this app so addicting – you can get so much with a few bucks!
Generally, you would pay a small amount for shipping per item ($1 – $5). However, this option usually means waiting three to four weeks for your stuff. You do have an option to rush your purchase so that it arrives within a week or so, but that means paying $13+ for shipping. I’ve never rushed any of my orders because I’ve never bought items that I absolutely needed ASAP (otherwise, I would’ve used Amazon Prime!) and I’m also too cheap to pay extra for shipping.
I’ve been using Wish for about a year now and I’ve bought quite a bit of different things, but in this blog post I’m just going to cover the clothes I got from the app (5 items)! Please know that the review of the clothes below are solely MY opinion, and I am not being paid to make a review. Also, all the prices listed below are all in USD.
#1. Half Sleeve Asymmetric Casual Dress – $9
This dress comes in the colors white, black, khaki, wine, blue, green, rose, and yellow. I picked wine in size S. I took my chances on getting a small on this because it’s supposed to be fitting!
The fitting was absolutely PERFECT! I was happy with everything about this dress – the material didn’t feel cheap, it was sewn properly, the wine color was gorgeous and bold, it fit me nicely, and the length was just right! I’m so glad I got a Small for this dress. Some people were commenting that it was too short, and some said it was just right. Being a short gal, I figured it can’t be that short on me… and I was right! It came about mid thigh for me.
#2. Women’s Black Lace Up Halter Bikini Set – $6.25
For this specific link / merchant, there was only one style option, which is shown above. I went with size S.
This was my first time buying a halter-style bikini top and I found it to be really comfortable to wear and the quality is great! The patterns are also very pretty; I’ve had quite a few compliments on it.
The top fit just right and I didn’t feel like it would move when I swam!
I don’t mind it being cheeky, but the bottoms were choking me. I’m usually a S in bottoms as well, but this one was very tight, which surprised me since the top fit me so well. I guess I grew? According to their size chart, I fit the S… but again, that’s China sizing for you. I use the bikini top but I keep the bottoms hidden and out of sight. At least it was only $6.25!
#3. White Boho Crochet Knit Bikini Cover Up – $11.25
The only option here was white. I got mine in M because I wanted to make sure it was a little loose and below the tush.
It fit me just the way I wanted it too! This was soft and slouchy just like my gray sweater. The crochet design is delicate and beautiful.
It also comes with a thin brown belt, which is pretty neat. A lot of my friends complimented me on this cover up and they were surprised at how cheap it was.
#4. Women’s Off the Shoulder Elastic Waist Romper – $6.80
Available in two colors: white and black. I chose white in size S.
The sizing was right and the white fluffy balls at the bottom were a cute addition!
Out of all the clothes I’m reviewing, I’d have to say that this was unfortunately the biggest flop. On the model picture, the fabric looks soft and flowy like cotton. The white also doesn’t look see-through.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t like that when I got it; the fabric was thin and the material was more bunched up and wrinkly, and felt more like a hard polyester. It just doesn’t sit right when I wear it so sadly, this also just sits in my dresser.
#5. Women’s Sleeveless Jumpsuit Romper – $6
Available in colors black, blue, and red. I chose black in S.
Size S was just right for me, and I felt every part fit properly! The elastic waist was tight, but not too not tight. It’s easy to create wrinkles on the material but luckily it’s black, so it’s not readily seen. It fits me just like the picture above!
The back has a button enclosure and the slit goes halfway down to my back.
Material isn’t soft like I thought and is easy to wrinkle but that’s minor since it’s black and it still feels great!
I’m still quite pleased with all the items I got from Wish. It’s hard to shop for clothes online especially when they come from China and have different sizing than what you’re used to. Sometimes, the fabric is not what you think, and sometimes it really is a disappointing factor. Despite some bad aspects in some of the things I bought, I’d still say that the good outweighs the bad.
